Pie de la Cuesta means "The foot of the hill"
A very different beach scene awaits, just 15 minutes north of Acapulco. Pie de la Cuesta is a narrow strip of beach with a fresh-water lagoon on one side and the roaring open ocean on the other. The hotels on this strip are basic at best, but fun and VERY relaxed. Paige & Fernando, and Mary Helen & German, each brought two pooches with them to the very dog friendly Vayma hotel. The hotel was one of the nicest on the strip, but I could see where lack of window screens and hot water could be a deterrent to some.
